Objectives - Neurotraumatology

The needs of the children registered with the Neurotraumatology Program vary depending on the severity of their physical, sensory, cognitive and behavioural impairments. The needs of the family are also considered because they are intimately related to the needs of the child.

Therefore, the family must assist the child or teenager as well as assume important responsibilities.

The key objectives are as follows:

  • To accompany and guide the child and his family throughout the process of rehabilitation
  • To develop the autonomy in the daily activities
  • To identify, if necessary, means of compensation by using technical aids which will favor the adaptation if the recovery is incomplete
  • Prepare, from the admission, the progressive reinstatement of the child in his family, school, social circle and the leisure activities.
