Services - Brachial Plexus

The Brachial Plexus Clinic offers multidisciplinary services that cater to the needs of each child and family.

This clinic receives children shortly following birth to further clarify the diagnosis; to assess the severity of the condition; and to determine the appropriate treatment (surgery, rehabilitation, etc.)

The first visit consists of an examination with the physiatrist, and with the plastic and orthopedic surgical teams if needed.

The team follows an assessment protocol that is based on the child’s age and condition.

Rehabilitation professionals are present at each visit and work together with the doctors to recommend the best approach for enhancing the functions of the affected upper limb. They also work collaboratively with regional rehabilitation centres.
