Services - Spasticity

The Spasticity Clinic’s team provides third-line expertise to physical rehabilitation centres. Rehabilitation workers call on the Clinic to obtain a second opinion from the medical team with expertise in spasticity treatments and interventions; to inquire about the child’s medical prognosis or social participation; to obtain recommendations on the most appropriate interventional strategies or to seek advice following several unsuccessful attempts.

The multidisciplinary team will provide:

  • An additional assessment and recommendations
  • Assistance in determining the type of followup
  • Appropriate treatments: interventions, Botox injections, consultation from the Radiculectomy Clinic to evaluate the relevance of surgery.

The Spasticity Clinic is divided into four clinics:

  • Screening and assessment clinic
  • Hand and upper limb clinic
  • Lower limb clinic, including screening for radiculectomy
