Objectives - Motor Development Disorders

In order to meet the needs of both the child and family, the Program aims to:

  • Enhance the child’s abilities to carry out activities of daily living by maximizing the necessary skills for his/her development and by teaching any required compensatory skills;
  • Foster the child’s integration into his/her different daily living environments (home, daycare, school and recreational centres) and enhance his/her social participation in their different activities;
  • Inform, guide and support the family throughout the rehabilitation process in order to enhance the child’s participation and adjustment;
  • Better define the disorder and refer both the child and family to other resources that best meet their needs, if necessary.
