Objectives - Musculoskeletal Lesions

The medical and rehabilitation teams work together with the child, family and a number of partners (rehabilitation centres, daycares, etc.) to achieve the following objectives:

  • Help both the child and family identify and resolve problems experienced with activities of daily living;
  • Help the child develop or recover the needed skills for carrying out activities of daily living;
  • Provide technical aids that will compensate for the disability and/or motor limitations (ex: orthoses and prostheses) as well as eliminate any environmental obstacles;
  • Foster the child’s integration and social participation in the child’s different daily living environments (daycare, school, recreational centre, etc.) while helping the child prepare for adulthood.
