The goal of the rehabilitation program for Children with primary speech or language disorders is to enable them to achieve progress with regard to their communication abilities.
Its multidisciplinary team aims to contribute to the differential diagnosis and to implement the intervention plan that will foster each child’s development, progress, integration into different daily living environments and social participation. The team provides families and fellow rehabilitation colleagues with needed support and tools.
The program also aims to improve the children’s communication opportunities and social participation while ensuring their transition from one stage of life to another (often considered as a major change). The program aims to achieve the 4 following general objectives:

Help the parents and other family members adjust to the child’s communication disorder;

Enhance the child’s ability to carry out activities of daily living in order to achieve personal, social and community autonomy;

Help the child adjust to the communication disorder;

Ensure the necessary conditions for achieving academic, professional and social integration and participation.
