Services - Neurotraumatologie

Through the Neurotraumatology program, the client and his family receive the necessary information to understand the consequences of physical or cognitive deficits that result from a disease of trauma. Life experiences and perceptions related to the functional dimension of the child, the realized progress and the recuring effects (sequellae) are continuously and closely monitored and there is frequent follow-ups. This approach brings up the priority goals of intervention for the client and his family and encourage his participation while making the most of his personal competences.

The clients for which an URFI admission is envisaged will be offered a visit of this unit by a member of the team, before the admission. The clients who will only be seen at the outpatient clinics will have a meeting with the team to determine their needs.

Also, depending on their needs, the Montreal NT clients and those from other Quebec regions can benefit from various superspecialized services such as:

  • The Augmentative and Alternative Communication Program (SACOE)
  • The Technical Aids Program (positionning)
  • The URFI (Intensive Functional Rehabilitation Unit)
  • The Spasticity Clinic (Botox, radicellectomy and hand clinics)
  • The Dysphagia Clinic
  • The Walking Rehabilitation Clinic
