Clients and Objectives - Residence and Respite Unit

Clients of the residence and respite unit are children aged 0 to 18 years living on the island of Montreal. They have a motor impairment with or without a developmental disability, and require nursing care.

The institutional residence provides children with accessible accommodations as well as medical and nursing care in a daily living environment that meets and fulfills their needs.

Objectives

The objectives of the residence unit are:

  • To provide residential services in a substitute daily living environment primarily to children with motor impairments;
  • To provide respite or temporary accommodation services to natural families or family-type resources;
  • To assess children whose needs are not clearly defined in order to direct them to the most appropriate residential resource.
